About us
It was that day when… When we had that same feeling that you must have experienced before. That sensation you know so well, which is something like longing for a pleasure. Like when, drifted by the past, you decide to to get back and savor that pleasant sensation that touched your senses. That moment, a mixture of endorphins and appetite which leads you to… satisfying your craving. It was that day; when two entrepreneurs born and raised in the world capital of EVOO; trained and prepared to turn ideas into sustainable projects, with all the struggle and passion it takes; when we met him who told us that old tale of a friar who, in the Spain of 1880 wandered through valleys and trails, preaching his evangelist action. Having renounced material wealth, up to the point that, they say, he only had a crust of bread, water and a sip of wine. A friar who became well know because he shared with the people of each dwelling he lodged in, not only a strong social and spiritual influence, but also the secret of his vitality and his tireless pilgrimage. He used to tell them how he hid a bit of his bread so, once the dusk fell and he retired to rest, he soaked it in green drops of a juice he kept in jug, given to him by a farmer. That farmer grew by hand his olive orchard, nestled in a unique spot within the spurs of Sierra Mágina. That was a field man, who extracted, in an old mill, made of a kind of stone mortar, the juice of the trees which adorned a landscape, which, among the fields, pictured a high plateau on the idilic background of a mountain range, which went from middle south of the county of Jaén until reaching that of Granada. The haulage, the weeding, the ploughing and sowing seemed less harsh under the starlight sky, which seemed to caress the highest peaks, a land of Continental Mediterranean climate and cold winters, which to the day favor a high quality of the EVOO and which, without a doubt at that time, provided that special character to the essence of those olives, which that friar capriciously enjoyed savoring. The result of that night ritual, turned into routinely addiction, was an impetuous awakening, such strength and personality, that the friar himself attributed to the ingestion of that fruity juice. Today, over a hundred fifty years later, we have decide to make it our own caprice, and share it with you. To create, together, a new tale, as touching and exciting as the friar´s. One which, so much like that day… is setting off this very moment.
